‘Star Wars: Bounty Hunter’ Remaster Headed to Modern Consoles, With Boba Fett Unlockable as a Playable Character

The Star Wars: Bounty Hunter tie-in game, set between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, is getting a new remastered port for modern consoles, with the port finally delivering on the Easter Egg allowing fans to unlock Boba Fett as a playable character.

The new port, available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, features remastered textures for the various environments to make them appear sleeker and more modern, and more dynamic lighting to help make the action stand out. In addition, the game has a new flashlight feature that helps light up some of the darker maps of the game. PS5 players also get an added bonus in the form of DualSense features integrated with the controller, such as adaptive triggers, voice comms coming through the speaker, and the lightbar reflecting Jango Fett’s healthbar.

Fans who are familiar with the game might also recall an Easter Egg suggesting that players would be able to unlock Boba Fett after completing a playthrough, a feature that was not available when the game hit the shelves. Luckily, Aspyr Media has opted to make good on this promise by adding Jango’s son as a playable character if you manage to cash in on every single bounty as a New Game Plus award for the most experienced of bounty hunters.

Star Wars Bounty Hunter

Set shortly after the Battle of Naboo in the Star Wars Legends timeline, Bounty Hunter explored a series of missions taken by Jango Fett that led to his selection as the genetic template for the clone army utilized by the Galactic Republic – and, in secret, would serve as the measure that would be used to destroy the Jedi. The narrative had Jango Fett tying up a loose end for Darth Tyranus by targeting Komari Vosa, his former Padawan, who became the leader of the Bando Gora cult serving as the main antagonists of the game. As he tidies up for the Sith Lords and proves himself worthy of being cloned millions of times, he acquires the Slave I and forms a long-lasting partnership with fellow bounty hunter Zam Wesell along the way.

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter arrives to modern consoles on August 1, 2024.
