Jude Law’s ‘Skeleton Crew’ Character Name Revealed

It took another merch leak to get it, but we finally have more news on Skeleton Crew. A couple of months ago, the faces of the young cast leaked on a merch box and this time, a Lego leak has revealed all the names of the main protagonists in Skeleton Crew, including Jude Law’s character, and the name of their ship. What’s more, the Lego set is set to be available before a trailer has even been released for the series.

Courtesy of a social media post from Falconbricks, we now know that the protagonists’ ship in Skeleton Crew is called the Onyx Cinder along with each character name. It’s tough to read all the names as they’re a bit blurry when zoomed in, but Jude Law’s character is seemingly called Jod (or Jog as it’s not very clear from the image’s quality), while the three human children seem to be named Wim, Fern and KB.

The Ortolan child is called Neel as the actor himself revealed during Star Wars Celebration 2023. Some fans have expressed surprised that the Ortolan appears to be have hands, but current canon has made it so the Ortolan species has arms now, and not four legs (though it is admittedly inconsistent so maybe they just forgot).

The post also reveals that the Lego set will be released on August 1. Though it doesn’t name the year, you’d assume that it will release this year and not in 2025. This lends credence to the idea that Skeleton Crew was supposed to release last year and got delayed, possibly because Disney either missed their preferred Holiday release date or wanted Jude Law to promote the series and decided to aim for Holiday 2025 instead, once the actors’ strike was firmly in the rearview mirror.

If it releases this year, then surely it will force Lucasfilm’s hand and they’ll have to release a trailer for Skeleton Crew before this arrives. The Acolyte will finish in two weeks, leaving them free to start promoting Skeleton Crew and they can’t have a Lego set out for a show that doesn’t even have a trailer yet. It looks like the Lego set will also be pretty expensive, costing builders $129.99 (though it’s still cheaper than the Millennium Falcon set, mind you).

With any luck, this means we’ll get our first public trailer for Skeleton Crew in the weeks after The Acolyte finishes. Lucasfilm can’t afford to have this out in the wild before any footage is publicly released and it will then give them several months to ramp up promotion before the series releases later this year.
