Exclusive: ‘Hyperspace Stories #12’ Makes Its Way to the Battle of Endor

Dark Horse’s Hyperspace Stories issue #12 releases on December 13 and Star Wars News Net has an exclusive preview. The comic looks to focus on a new character called Evans Basch, an engineer caught in the throes of the Battle of Endor. It is also one of the last stories of the year commemorating the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi.

Hyperspace Stories is an anthology series where each issue jumps to a different period within the Star Wars saga. Each issue also has different creative teams with issue #12 featuring writing from Cecil Castellucci, art from Lucas Marangon, and colors by Michael Atiyeh. Feel free to check out the official synopsis below:

Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories #12 Variant Cover by Cary Nord.

The Battle of Endor as you’ve never seen it before!

It could be the Rebel Alliance’s moment of triumph, or the hour of their final destruction! The heroes of the Rebellion race to destroy the Emperor’s second Death Star, but for engineer Evans Basch, it’s a race just to survive! Assigned a key role in the rebel fleet, it’ll take all of Basch’s skill, and a dash or two of luck, to keep his ships in one piece.

May the Force be with him!

The action comes to an epic conclusion at the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi, in Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories #12!

We’ve also included a look at the story’s first five pages. A big thank you to Dark Horse for providing the exclusive preview!

How Basch ends up in the Battle of Endor remains to be seen. Something else to note is the stuffed animal Basch somehow acquires, which is a recurring object tying Hyperspace Stories together.
