First Celebrity Guests Announced for ‘Star Wars’ Celebration Japan 2025

Lucasfilm has confirmed the first four celebrity guests for Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025, and there are some familiar faces heading to Tokyo.

It was announced via X and on their website that Anthony Daniels, Ashley Eckstein, Temuera Morrison and Doug Chiang will be attending Star Wars Celebration next year.

The announcement comes much earlier than most fans would expect (we don’t usually get this news until roughly three months before the event, let alone a full year), so it’s good to see Lucasfilm giving people a bit more info on what to expect before they buy their tickets for Star Wars Celebration.

While the vast majority of fans will recognize Anthony Daniels as C-3PO — the droid’s head is in his picture, on the off-chance you didn’t — Temuera Morrison as Jango and Boba Fett (plus that homeless clone refugee in Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano in animation, you might be forgiven for not immediately recognizing Doug Chiang, an Academy Award winner who is currently Lucasfilm’s senior vice president and executive design director. He previously worked on The Mandalorian, Ahsoka and the upcoming Skeleton Crew. He appears on the Obi-Wan Kenobi blu-ray talking about Darth Vader’s bacta tank scene in the bonus features.

Lucasfilm also said to stay tuned for more announcements regarding celebrity guests and other surprise announcements, so hopefully those will come sooner rather than later as well. Tickets for Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 go on sale at 4pm PST / 7pm EST on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Some limited edition merchandise will also be available for purchase during the ticket sales, but we imagine it might be wise to just focus on getting the tickets first!
